Approval of a New Patent Law Regulation

 
With this Regulation, Spanish patenting law has been simplified and is now contained in two legal texts: Law 24/2015 of 24 July on Patents and the related implementing regulation passed by Royal Decree 316/2017 of 31 March. This concludes a simplification process that has put paid to the dispersed nature of previous regulations in the field, the upshot of multiple modifications to patent laws brought about by market needs and the impositions of European Union law. The new Regulation streamlines procedures with the aim of encouraging innovation.
